Biography:
She is an artist and teacher with more than 25 years of experience. Steffani holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The University of Calgary, Canada, and a Master of Fine Arts degree from Washington State University, Currently, she is taching at LSC- Tomball Community College Art Department in Texas. Steffani has an extensive exhibition record and has exhibited in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Scottland. Having a piece purchased by The National gallery for Women artists in Washington D.C.. She first encountered alternative processes in photography while being a visiting student at the University of Manoa-Hawaii, and she hasn’t looked back since.
Her love of all things photographic and hand made keeps her in the realm of alternative processes. Her most recent areas of interest being lith printing and encaustic photographs. These processes are very hands on and require patience and time. She says, “ I feel like the world slows down when I am in the darkroom or studio working on a piece. Its like a slice of zen that exists for me. Similar to the freedom of meditating and finding bliss.” Her current works combine her love of mixed media and breaking established taditional boundaries by encorporating photography encautic medium and oil paint.
